De 1990 au milieu de 1991, le débat était relativement sain. Si des intellectuels de bas étage comme Mono Dzana tente d'introduire la notion farfelue d'ethnofascisme, celle ci ne mord pas au niveau des masses populaires. Le rdpc est en reculade dans toutes les régions du pays. Les populations de tout le pays veulent le changement. Pour ne prendre que l'exemple de Cap Liberté, une de ses plus grandes sections se trouvait à Sangmelima sous la direction de notre vice présidente, la regrettée Élisabeth Mendomo.

Un jour, mal inspiré, Benjamin Zebaze de Challenge Hebdo met à la Une de son journal le titre "Les Betis et la Betisation". Joseph Owona et quelques autres pontes du régime utilisent à leur profit cette gaffe monumentale. Ils sillonnent les provinces du centre et du sud avec des copies du journal et manipulent le sentiment ethnique en faveur du rdpc. Ils font croire aux populations locales que le vent du changement est une conspiration directe contre elles. Sous leurs instigations, les   commerces de certains résidents sont brûlés et leurs propriétaires attaqués par des voyous commandités par les pontes du rdpc.

La gaffe de Zebaze est malheureusement répétée par Kamto à la cour constitutionnelle en novembre 2018. À l'intérieur d'un brillant plaidoyer dont il a le secret et qui d'un point de vue du droit entrera dans les annales de l'histoire, le prof introduit malheureusement la notion déconcertante de "concours pour devenir bulu". Cette fois, c'est Owona Grégoire qui sonne la charge, à l'intérieur même de la Cour Constitutionnelle. Il est carrément jouissif. Kamto vient de leur donner le bâton qu'il vont utiliser pour le taper. En dépit des faits contraires, Le rdpc va désormais dépeindre le MRC comme un projet ethnique.

Soyons clairs, ce ne sont ni Zebaze ni Kamto qui ont introduit le tribalisme en politique. Depuis Ahidjo le régime unc-rdpc manipule le sentiment ethnique pour se maintenir au pouvoir. Cependant ceux qui ne sont pas au pouvoir ne doivent jamais tomber dans le jeu. Car si on peut se maintenir au pouvoir en faisant la promotion de la division, on ne peut prendre le pouvoir qu'en promouvant l'unité transethique et transpartisane des forces du Changement.

Zebaze's blunder was unfortunately repeated by Kamto at the constitutional court in November 2018. Within a brilliant plea of ​​which he had the secret and which from a legal point of view would go down in the annals of history, the teacher unfortunately introduces the disconcerting notion of "competition to become bulu". This time, it is Owona Grégoire who rings the charge, within the Constitutional Court itself. It is downright enjoyable. Kamto has just given them the stick that they are going to use to hit it. In spite of the contrary facts, the CPDM will henceforth portray the CRM as an ethnic project.

Let's be clear, it was neither Zebaze nor Kamto who introduced tribalism to politics. Since Ahidjo the CNU-CPDM regime has manipulated ethnic sentiment to keep power. However, those who are not in power should never fall into the game. Therefore one’s can stay in power by promoting division, we can only take power by promoting the transethical and trans-advocate of unity of the forces of change.
